We have an internship opportunity for a computer graphics enthusiast!
We would like to implement performant volumetric rendering of vectorial data acquired with quantitative polarization and phase imaging. Here is an example 2D rendering at one focal plane. We are interested in adapting some of the intuitive visualizations from diffusion tensor MRI field (https://www.semanticscholar.org/paper/Diffusion-Tensor-MRI-Visualization-Zhang-Laidlaw/5d36363796ea2714542ca94bd0667c17044145a1). The optimal outcome is a layer or plugin for napari that can render such data in a performant fashion. Prior experience with python, GPU programing, openGL, computational fluid dynamics rendering, EM field rendering, or diffusion weighted MRI data is valuable.
