Status line always returns to top layer rather than active layer

I very much like the ability to investigate pixel values by moving the mouse over the displayed image, and looking at the status line. When I activate a layer by clicking on its name, the status line updates to display the name of that layer. However, when I then move the mouse pointer into the displayed image, the status line reverts to the top most layer (and displays the pixel intensities of the top most layer rather than the selected layer).

Is this a bug or intended behavior? If it is intended behavior, is there another way to easily get pixel intensity information for layers other than the top layer?

This looks like a regression from 0.4.0, sorry about that! The behaviour on 0.3.8 is how you want it. I’ll look into a fix. Thanks for the report

I think Draga was looking into this during the sprint yesterday (but I don’t know any more details about how that went). If you make a tracking issue for this, you might like to cc Draga there
