I have been using template matching to align slices in a stack of 1800 1200X1200 images. Afterwards these files have been slow to save but within a couple of minutes they do save (Yes, I do save them under a new name). Recently I’ve been using template matching to align slices in a stack of 600 images (i.e. 1/3 the size of previous). Again I assign a new name to the file, but now the files are excruciatingly slow to save (takes about 90 minutes). Any thoughts or suggestions?
To what location are you saving? Local drive or network mount? If you save TIFF to a smb-mounted network drive on Windows, updating
ij.jar (i.e. the ImageJ 1.x component of Fiji) to the latest release version (
1.52r) might help, as discussed in this topic:
In addition, you might also want to save to a different format. Using Bio-Formats Exporter to save to
ids is a good way to save large image data with acceptable speed.
