Sinewave detection in a fits stack

Hi all,

I’ve got an interesting problem, and I was wondering if some people (with experience with pluggins) could help me.

I have a fits stack, where the grayscale variations in some areas of the image over the z axis, describes a regular sinewave of known frequency.

Would it be somehow possible to process the data in a way that shows as a response image as the amplitude of the sinewave for every pixel of the image?

Many thanks,

QMan

I’m quite new here and not quite sure how to update a fits stack in here to show?

Good day,

you could perform 1-dimensional Fourier-transformations along z for every pixel position, provided the z-dimension is large enough. See the “Built-in Macro Functions” of ImageJ and especially

Array.fourier(array, windowType)
