Scientific Collaborations Manager - Aivia team

Base: Greater Seattle, WA (US) preferred. Telecommuting possible.

DRVISION, a global leader in machine learning, computer vision, nD image visualization and analysis, is expanding its team to further grow its R&D, innovation and intellectual property pipeline. Aivia, DRVISION’s flagship software, offers automated volumetric and morphometric analyses, virtual reality image exploration, and a range of machine learning tools for image enhancement, analysis and classification.

​Aivia development has been partially funded by Small Business Innovative Research Grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). NIH has funded over $10M for Aivia technology development over the years. The collaborators include Harvard University, Harvard Stem Cell Institute, University of Tokyo, Osaka University, University of Southern California, etc.

The Scientific Collaborations Manager will play a key role managing existing collaboration and develop new ones with both academic and industry partners.

This exciting new position is ideal for an individual that excels at grant writing, critical analysis of scientific publications, project management, microscopy, image analysis and life sciences. This position is expected to be based at our HQ office in Bellevue, WA (greater Seattle). The successful candidate will benefit from joining the Aivia team at an early stage which provides unique growth opportunities both professionally and financially.

###### Experience and characteristics critical to success:

  • Masters degree in life sciences.

  • Experience in grant writing.

  • Hands-on experience with advanced image analysis software or microscopy systems.

  • Entrepreneurial nature.

  • Excellent written communication skills.

  • Ability to explain complex concepts in concise, easy-to-understand terms.

###### Desirable but non-critical experience and characteristics:

  • PhD in life sciences.

  • Expertise in advanced 3D/4D microscopy and image analysis.

  • Background in neurosciences, microscopy or developmental biology.

  • Track record of writing, winning and administering scientific grants.

###### Tasks and Duties:

  • Grant writing and editing.

  • Management of day to day communication with collaborators.

  • Critical review and analysis of scientific publications.

  • Develop new relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) in academia and industry, science centers and scientists.

  • Nurture and grow existing relationships with KOLs.

  • Contribute to the product management process.

  • Grant administration.

  • Technical writing.

  • Other related tasks and duties aligned with DRV’s objectives.


5 to 10 days per year.

Benefits include a base salary, performance based commission, 401K plan, healthcare, and vacation. This position is based in Bellevue, WA (telecommuting/home office).
