Problem opening the quicktime opener plugin

Hi all,

I’m having a hard time opening quicktime videos. I have installed all of the requisite plugins, and the ‘File/Import/Using Quicktime’ command appears for me, but when I click on it I get the following error message:

Class not found while attempting to run “QT_Movie_Opener”

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: quicktime/qd/QDConstants

None of the files in the quicktime opener page are .class files, so I’m not sure why I’m getting this message.

any thoughts?
Colin

Welcome to the ImageJ forum, @colee!

I assume you’re trying this plugin? Since its newest version is from 2007, I’m not sure if it will work with an up-to-date Java. It would be good to know the details about your system (Windows or OSX? 32-bit or 64-bit? Which Java version?).

In any case, this plugin should not be required any more.

In an up-to-date Fiji installation, you can open QuickTime movies using the Bio-Formats importer (Plugins > Bio-Formats > Bio-Formats Importer). Alternatively, you can subscribe to the FFMPEG update site and open your videos using File > Import > Movie (FFMPEG).
