Postdoc to develop quantitative live-cell imaging for structural biology (Barcelona)

The Gallego lab (DCEXS-UPF, PRBB, Barcelona) opens a Post-doctoral position funded by a 3-years grant. It is addressed to scientists holding a PhD who are willing to take their next step in the research of fundamental questions in cell biology by increasing the resolutive power of live-cell imaging. Our lab develops unique intracellular (protein-based)-nanotools that enhance the precision of live-cell imaging measurements. For example, we can measure distances between fluorophores in the range of 2 nm (Picco et al, 2017, Cell). In practice, this allows us to do structural biology in living cells and to embark on biological questions that could not be answered by other means. We now open a post-doctoral position in light microscopy and/or image analysis to strengthen this line of research and to continue enhancing the capabilities of quantitative live-cell imaging.

We seek for a Postdoc with expertise in quantitative light microscopy (ideally, a microscopist in the broad sense of the word, with a PhD in physics, biology, mathematics etc… as long as he/she has a strong background in biophysics, optical physics or image analysis). Since last year, we are located in the PRBB, an excellent research center in Barcelona equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and with a highly international scientific environment. Please, see the link for more details on the Postdoc position.
