Position of opened images on screen

I am running FIJI version 1.51e43 on Mac OS 10.9.5.

When I open an image through FIJI, the software frequently positions the image window so that a portion of it overlaps with the ImageJ toolbar window (see attached), requiring me to manually reposition the image window to access the toolbar. However, this solution only works temporarily, because each subsequently opened and closed image gets positioned gradually toward the top of the screen, such that eventually the initial problem recurs and I have to drag the image window from over the ImageJ toolbar window again. Could this be fixed?

So… there is no quick fix from what I can tell actually. Perhaps more experts here on the Forum might have a solution. But I do have a trick to rapidly access the toolbar: just hit the ‘return’ key and that gives you access to the toolbar instantly.

You can look at other Window tools here.

Hope that helps a bit!

You can run this script and the window will always be on top of all items of your desktop.

IJ.getInstance().setAlwaysOnTop(true);

To have ImageJ run this command when it launches, add the following to
the beginning of the ImageJ/macros/StartupMacros.txt file:

macro "AutoRun" {
   run("Always on Top");
}

Have fun!
