Open Samples issue... now uses Bio-Formats?

Hello All …

I just noticed a recent change in Fiji functionality. I’m currently running (Fiji is Just)ImageJ 2.0.0-rc-69/1.52n; Java 1.8.0_66 [64-bit] and noticed that now when I go to Open Samples - opening “Blobs” for example - the following windows now pop up:

Bio-formats runs now automatically… then an error occurs:

But clicking ok results in the image being opened:

What has changed that this is now occurring? Am I missing something?

(Also happens with Bridge, Boats, etc. but not all Open Samples images.)

I cannot reproduce your issue in an up-to-date Fiji on Mac or Windows.

Do you have any locally modified files or third-party update sites shipping libraries that could compete in consuming the file open event? The fact that you see the image opened despite the error message seems to point to such kind of an issue…

I think you are right… investigating now. Though it’s strange that this behavior only appeared in the latest rounds of updates. ??

UPDATE: A fresh install solved the issue… not sure what my particular problem was in the end. Will remain a mystery for now.
