Dear all,
According to https://downloads.openmicroscopy.org/help/pdfs/sharing-data.pdf, the Omero.web share option aims to create shares with users you are not in a group with. However, in our omero.server, only users with admin privileges can access to the entire list of users in the “members” field from the create share window.
Users without admin privileges get instead a list of empty parentheses, as well as users they already are in a group with, which makes the share option pretty useless for them.
When an “empty parentheses” entry is selected, <hidden> <hidden> (<hidden>)
shows up.
How could we allow non-admin users create such internal shares with the create share
button?
And is it possible to permanently delete a share from the shares
tab?
Also, in this post (Omero sharing for Screens, datasets and projects - #2 by mtbc), @mtbc mentionned that omero.web shares usage is not recommended and may be deprecated someday.
Is it maybe planned for the future to allow sharing data with users from other groups in a different way?
Many thanks in advance,
Claire
