Omero server centos failed to startup

Good afternoon. I am trying to install in a virtual box omero server and omeroweb, using centos 7 and the latest omero (5.4.1). After following the installation i followed the troubleshooting and discovered that omero fails to start:

 [omero@Omero OMERO.server]$ bin/omero admin start
No descriptor given. Using etc/grid/default.xml
Waiting on startup. Use CTRL-C to exit
.............................
Failed to startup some components after 300 seconds
Calling "stop" on remaining components
Waiting on shutdown. Use CTRL-C to exit

Could anyone shed some light on it, please?
Thanks

Hi @Joao_Miguel. Welcome to image.sc!

In the Blitz-0.log file,

Caused by: org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: FATAL: password authentication failed for user "..."

points to an issue with your configuration settings. Can you double check that you can access PostgreSQL with the properties starting with omero.db.? See https://docs.openmicroscopy.org/omero/5.5.1/sysadmins/unix/server-installation.html#creating-a-database for more information for checking the connection.

All the best,
~Josh

Thank you for the link. I corrected manually the postgres details, ran into some trouble with omero.web but they are all working now. Unfortunately I am having a problem with a 404 page on nginx … working on it

Thanks for letting us know. Let’s start a new topic with the 404 issue when/if the time comes.

Good luck!
