Omero Metadata (Docker)

I was just about to test uploading some metadata using the CLI, when I realised that the omero-metadata package isn’t installed as part of omero-server.

That’s not so inconvenient since I took Josh’s idea from a previous post and created my own omero-cli container for this purpose. However, I thought I’d check whether there is an existing image with this functionality already available, and also to ask whether it is planned to add this functionality to the standard image.

See Dockerfile here:

ARG PARENT_IMAGE=openmicroscopy/omero-server:latest

USER root

RUN /opt/omero/server/venv3/bin/pip install \

USER omero-server

ENTRYPOINT ["/opt/omero/server/OMERO.server/bin/omero"]

There’s not currently a production “kitchen-sink” image which includes all the individual repositories, no. But there’s also no objection to having one (especially for the CLI). It’s mostly a matter of not having the necessary infrastructure to trigger a rebuild of the image on any release of over a dozen repositories. (Suggestions welcome!)
