OMERO for Developers Workshop, 30 Sept - 1 Oct, 2019

Dear All-

OME is glad to announce an upcoming developers’ workshop for OMERO. Our first two workshops of the year, held in April and June, were targeted at researchers, imaging facility managers and image analysts. This third Dundee OMERO Workshop of 2019 will start the morning of September 30 and end the afternoon of October 1, 2019. The workshop will be held at the School of Life Sciences complex at the University of Dundee, Dundee, Scotland, DD1 5EH.

This workshop will focus on the development of applications that use OMERO (“OMERO for Developers”). This will be an informal, hands-on workshop where we will try to connect attendees with OME team members to work through questions and any problems. Focus will be on:

  • working with the OMERO API
  • integrating OMERO.web apps
  • integrating analysis tools

Additionally, we would like to continue the discussion from last years’ users meeting and the more recent community zoom call on building a framework for capturing, managing and querying metadata outside the OME-XML model.

If there are other topics that you would like to suggest, please free to list them on your registration form.

To register for the meeting, fill out the form at https://forms.gle/B7rbcVMPVd3KqBns6. Registrations are open now and will be taken until midnight GMT, August 15. The registration form requests information on your needs. Please fill this out so we can cover them, as appropriate. This information will help us screen applications in case we have more applications than workshop spaces.

Please note that registration is free, but if you are accepted, we will request a £100 workshop fee that supports catering and a workshop dinner. Please also note we have no funds to support travel or accommodation at the workshop.

OME looks forward to welcoming to you to Dundee.

Cheers,

Jason
