OME Community Meeting, May 26-28, Dundee

Dear All-

OME is pleased to announce that it will hold its next Annual Users Meeting in Dundee, May 26-28, 2020. This is the 13th meeting in this series that explores the imaging community’s status on file formats, metadata specs, data management and workflows. We’ll review OME’s progress and discuss next steps and priorities for OME and the community. The meeting will be held in the Dalhousie Building at the University of Dundee.

The meeting will start at 10am on May 26 and finish at 4pm on May 28. A more detailed agenda will be published shortly, but expect lightning talks from meeting participants, invited speakers, workshops, demos and code hacking. You can expect alot of emphasis on file formats this year (the discussion on Next Gen File Formats will give you a sense of the topics we will discuss) as well as on data sharing and publication. We’ll definitely review and discuss public resources like IDR, BioImage Archive and others.

It’s usually gorgeous in Scotland in May, so hopefully the weather will cooperate (not guaranteed: as I type we have a strong storm blowing through Dundee with >80 mph gusts). We look forward to seeing you here for 3 days of deep dives into imaging data. For now hold the dates, and we’ll work on finalising the agenda.

Looking forward to seeing you in Dundee in May!

Cheers,

Jason

Dear All-

Just a quick note that, after some great feedback, we are renaming this meeting the OME Community Meeting, as this better reflects the breadth of topics, attendees, interests and applications.

We’ll follow with registration details shortly.

Cheers,

Jason
