Dear all, I’m a grad student in materials science, looking to analyze greyscale nanoparticle images via Cell Profiler. I’d like to extract radius measurements out of images that contain multiple, individual particles (which start out circular and become irregular as they disappear). Is this possible with the program? Any advice on the matter would be helpful. Thanks!!
Conceptually, that sounds readily doable with CellProfiler. After detecting the particles with one of the identification modules, e.g, IdentifyPrimaryObjects, you can use MeasureObjectsSizeShapeto extract a variety of morphology measures on a per-particle basis. A measure like form factor or compactness might do the trick.
