Installation problem on Mac 10.5.6

cellprofiler

I have a new Intel MacBook Pro and have tried to install CellProfiler and get the following message in terminal:

Last login: Thu Jun 4 10:49:20 on console
/Applications/CompiledCellProfiler/CellProfilerForMacI.command ; exit;
dhcp-18-188-69-57:~ Asha$ /Applications/CompiledCellProfiler/CellProfilerForMacI.command ; exit;

Also, when first installing MCR, it failed when the default path (Macintosh HD) was used. When I changed it to the Applications folder, it installed correctly. I am not sure how to change the “mcr_path” or if that is the error.

Thanks for any help.

I am not sure what to do from here. Please advise, thanks.

Hi,

in your case would be /Applications/MATLAB/MATLAB_Compiler_Runtime/v78, that’s why it was telling you wasn’t a directory. So what you really want to type is:

exactly as it appears above. CellProfiler tries to set this environment variable when it starts up, but some Tiger (and apparently Leopard) installations need it to be set explicitly from the terminal, for some reason.

It’s a little worrisome that it can’t find /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/JavaVM, though- this may mean that there’s something wrong with your Java.
