How to set ImageJ Look and Feel at startup

Hey guys,

I’ve been able to set most of my desired options in the startup macro for ImageJ. I want to set my look and feel from the default Metal to GTK+ when I start ImageJ, but I don’t quite know which command to use. The macro recorder doesn’t track it, and I can’t find any documentation on this.
Anyone know a solution? It’s just an optical improvement so my world won’t end if this isn’t possible. But it would be nice : )

Best regards

I don’t have a solution, but wanted to +1 this issue since it’s more than a cosmetic one for me. On OS X, the default native look and feel is functionally a little inferior to Metal because OS X hides the scrollbar arrows and prevents “click to scroll” which makes for annoyances in the brightness/contrast and threshold dialogs. I honestly have been resetting it each time I restart the application.

Hey,

I found a trick :
add this line at the end of the Autorun macro in your StartupMacros.ijm file (imagej/macros) :

eval("js", "javax.swing.UIManager.setLookAndFeel('javax.swing.plaf.metal.MetalLookAndFeel');");

it works for me :wink:

Best,
Kevin
