How to identify/differentiate images of different structure based on pattern recognition or any other method?

Hi…

I am working on image processing and would like to enquire about application of image processing/pattern recognition to images that I have obtained experimentally.These images for different “packing structure” are to be analysed further so as to identify whether they have some pattern within them or not. I am looking for a proper technique to characterize these images. I am also attaching two images from my experiments.

I would appreciate if someone can guide me through this.

Hello Aakarsha,

From looking at the examples you uploaded I believe you can use the Spatial statistics plugin to study the spatial distribution of the patterns on your images.

In addition to ImageJ plugin solutions I can highly recommend the R spatstat package to analyze point patterns, find spatial relationships and create models from the patterns. It is the most complete package regarding spatial point patterns.
