How to export centroid coordinates in MiB?

Dear MiB community,

I am interested in exporting the centroid coordinates of model objects in order to analyze spatial information. Is there a direct way to do this in MiB?

Best regards,
Tyler

Hi Tyler,
there are few options, for example

  1. Start Get Statistics

  2. Select type of objects to detect: 2D or 3D

  3. Press the Run button to calculate volumes of objects
  4. Press the Export button to save results as Matlab, Excel or CSV format. In the output file you will get Volumes and centroid coordinates of objects in pixels.

Alternatively, at step 4 instead of export you can select all detected objects in the table (mouse click + Shift+mouse click), do the right click to open a popup menu and choose “New annotations”. This will generate list of annotations (which are single points, in this particular case placed at the centroid position of each object with values):

5. Open the Annotation tool and press the Annotation list button:

6. From this new window you can select annotations in the table the same way as before, do the right click and export annotations in Matlab, CSV, Amira landmarks, PSI, Excel formats or to Imaris.
In this alternative method you will have the option to save coordinates in pixels but also in physical units = um

Perfect, thank you so very much!
