FAIM seeks HCS Specialist for biomedical research

The Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research (FMI) is an international research center with 340 members. It is affiliated with the University of Basel and the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research. Our goal is to exploit new technologies to further our understanding of the basic molecular mechanisms that underlie health and disease.
Supporting the FMI scientists in their research discoveries are a number of outstanding technology platforms, including the Facility for Advanced Imaging and Microscopy (FAIM).
To help run high-content screening projects within the Facility (50%) and within the research group of Dr. Prisca Liberali (50%), the FMI is seeking a highly motivated

HIGH-CONTENT SCREENING SPECIALIST

In this role you will be responsible for carrying out HCS experiments, from library handling down to image acquisition and processing, including:
Helping set up image-based assays
Running automated liquid handling for HCS
Running and troubleshooting the HCS microscope (Yokogawa CV7000)
Training advanced users
Managing libraries in coordination with Novartis HCS platforms
Performing basic image analysis on acquired data

For this challenging position you possess:
A degree in Life Sciences or equivalent (technician diploma, MSc or PhD)
Experience in HCS and fluorescence microscopy
Basic knowledge in image processing
Excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to work as a team member
Fluency in English
Knowledge of CellProfiler and Matlab would be a plus
