Color text boxes/drawings and Command+V do not work

I’m experiencing the following problems in my MacOS
High Sierra v.10.13.1 with ImageJ 1.51S software:

  • When opening a text box or drawing a rectangle/circle/etc it doesn’t
allow me to choose the color of the text/drawing with the image–> color–>
color picker option, instead it seems to draw with the color of the image
(if dapi image it draws in blue, if BF image in grey, if image in a red lut
    in red…).

  • Also my command+v option does not seem to work when pasting a name while
    saving an image.

I would really appreciate if you could give me any workaround with these
issues if any.

Looking forward to your answers and many thanks in advance!

When working with composite images, each channel is a separate, false-colored, (8-, 16- or 32-bit) grayscale image, so there’s only a single intensity value per pixel, no color information. If you want to draw colored boxes, you’ll have to either 1) use overlays instead of drawing into the image, or 2) switch the image type to RGB.

For more information, please consult the user guide section about image types.

Sorry, I currently cannot test this on MacOS, but you might want to try changing the Use JFileChooser to open/save option in the Edit :arrow_forward: Options :arrow_forward: Input/Output… dialog.

Hi Imagejan,

Many thanks for your reply. Ended up using Fiji-ImageJ version 2.0.0-rec-59/1.51n and:

  • Colored text boxes worked perfect indeed after changing type to RGB.
  • The JFile Chooser to open/save checked worked nicely for pasting a name for saving.

Thanks again for the feedback :slightly_smiling_face:

All the best!
