Chromatin distribution in TEM images

I’ve been asked to assist in quantifying chromatin distribution in TEM micrographs. The nuclei are round, with uniform membranes. Heterochromatin body distribution varies by size and distribution. depending on treatment, heterochromatin may be adjacent to the nuclear membrane or centrally distributed. GLCM texture analysis was suggested to me on the ImageJ list. Can someone suggest other ways to analyze? plots of chromatin body size, or distribution of heterochromatin density as a function of distance from the membrane?
Trying not to reinvent the wheel here.
