Can you help me with the istall&shut down problem?

I installed the Cell Profiler 2.2.0 on Win10, tried to open it and this happened:

Please check in your username/ installation folder if there is any special character.

I’m sorry, I’ve checked the registry, there is no “DefaultImageDirectory” behind the “CellProfilerLocal.cfg”.


And the username/installation folder has no special character.

Thanks for the screenshot. Your operating system is in Chinese, so…

Can you use a Windows OS in English instead? I mean a full English OS, not just the language package.

Could there be special characters further out in the AppData\Roaming path?

Are there special characters in your Java installation path?

I’m also not sure what the translation of the characters in that top registry entries should be, but they may need to be set to english language versions (ie looking at my own CP Reg, there’s a (Default) whose data is supposed to be (value not set)) to work; I’m not totally sure though.
