Biotechnology Associate 2
Provides strong technical support under the general guidance of the Director of Biology of Yale’s Center for Molecular Discovery, a University-wide core facility. Performs screening and discovery using Yale’s compound and siRNA collections, liquid handling instruments, readout technologies and database. Research projects are centered on the identification of molecules from Yale collections with specific biological properties in biochemical and cell-based assays. Primary duties include the design, execution and interpretation of biochemical and cell-based screens using siRNA, small molecule or other types of libraries. The duties also include expert utilization of high content imaging capabilities within the Center, including use of a PerkinElmer Opera imaging system and software for evaluating and image data. Strong statistical expertise is required to interpret data from large scale experiments conducted in this position. The scope of research projects will continue to expand as the Center’s capabilities grow, providing experience in many biological systems and techniques.
Required education and experience:
Master’s Degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or other related discipline and three years of experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
