Bioimage analyst with an interest in business development - East Coast USA - Aivia team

DRVISION, a world leader in machine learning, computer vision, nD image visualization and analysis is seeking an entrepreneurial individual to join the expanding Aivia team as a business development manager (BDM).

The new BDM will focus on introducing Aivia to potential customers in the US. Aivia’s unique blend of powerful solutions include automated 3D neuronal analysis, 3D object detection and tracking, real-time machine learning aided image segmentation, deep learning powered image segmentation, advanced machine learning phenotype discovery and classification, in addition to twelve 2D and 2D+time image analysis applications for life sciences.

This exciting new position is ideal for an individual that excels at microscopy, image analysis, life sciences, public speaking and customer satisfaction. The job will be based in Boston/NYC/Washington DC metro areas (telecommuting/home office). The successful candidate will benefit from joining the Aivia team at an early stage which provides unique growth opportunities both professionally and financially.

Experience and characteristics critical to success:

  • Experience in sales and/or marketing of advanced image analysis software or microscopy systems.

  • Significant hands-on experience with advanced 2D live cell imaging systems or 3D capable microscopy systems (e.g. confocal, multi-photon, spinning disk, light sheet / SPIM, electron microscopy (EM), 3D X-Ray or CT / MRI imaging).

  • Experience with image analysis.

  • Entrepreneurial nature.

  • Strong computer skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, oral, and written.

  • Ability to explain complex concepts

  • Good negotiation skills.

Desirable but non-critical experience and characteristics:

  • Experience and knowledge of the Virtual Reality / Augmented Reality market and products.

  • History of success as a (scientific/technical) consultant.

  • Advanced user of Photoshop, Blender, Illustrator or similar tools.

  • Experience optimizing SEO, creating web design and technical writing.

  • Ability to create impactful marketing collateral.

  • Expertise in using social media for community engagement and increased brand awareness.

Tasks and Duties:

  • Meet all quarterly and annual sales target numbers.

  • Conduct market search and lead generation activities to ensure the growth of the sale pipeline.

  • Research customers’ image analysis requirements and provide solutions in a professional and effective manner.

  • Perform customized customer demonstrations.

  • Provide answers to pre-sales technical and commercial questions from customers.

  • Cordial and diligent follow-up of sales opportunities.

  • Develop new business relationships with key science centers, scientists and key opinion leaders in academia and industry

  • Nurture and grow existing customer relationships

  • Represent and promote the company in professional manner at courses, tradeshows and conferences.

  • Manage the full sales pipeline to meet business objectives.

  • Manage and report sales bookings, potential sales, customer feedback and activity plan and other reports as required.

  • Actively contribute to the product roadmap and company direction by compiling and reporting key customer requirements and market trends.


5 to 10 days per calendar month.
