Best fitting circle / 95% confidence circle

Hi all,

I’m using the ‘Analyse particles’ feature so that to locate items of interest. In the end, I’m interested in finding the parameters of the best fitting circle/95% confidence circle around the centroids. Is there a way to do so in ImageJ (Fiji).
Thanks a lot for your answers.

Cheers,

Hi @cobaltsixty,

not exactly sure what you want to read out. potentially you could add an image or a schematic drawing on what exactly you mean with [quote=“cobaltsixty, post:1, topic:1447”]
parameters of the best fitting circle/95% confidence circle around the centroids

The results table you receive after running ►Analyze ►Analyze Particles… holda values like “roundness” this describes how close the respective particle it to a perfect circle. “Circularity” goes in a similar direction. Since you refer to the confidence regarding the centroid do you need a circle with the particle centroid as its center and still being inside the particle (or completely enclosing the particle)?
