Basic question about Saving stacks

I hate to even ask such a basic question, but I’ve not been able to find the answers I want out there (probably because it’s obvious to everyone else), so here goes:

I’ve created a merged channel stack, that recombines the two original channels (red and green of a standard z stack) together with a 3rd channel that has counted all the green cells. Now I want to simply save this new 3 channel Z-stack. Is there a way of doing this that allows me to save this as a single file, rather than having a whole folder of single channel images for each position in Z?

Thanks!

Simply save it as TIFF.

see https://imagej.nih.gov/ij/docs/guide/146-8.html#fig:Stacks-and-Hyperstacks

ImageJ opens multi-image TIFF files as a stack,
and saves stacks as multi-image TIFFs.
